Account Director (LA)

AMP L.A. is looking for an Account Director (AD) to manage relationships with one our largest clients. The Account Director provides overall strategic leadership for the business while identifying and nurturing opportunities for business growth.

The Account Director will lead and build client-agency relationships by providing business and marketing leadership; leading brand, marketing and advertising strategy; and managing the agency team to ensure that the delivery of creative work that is engaging and impactful.  The Account Director will lead and serve as the client’s advocate and will strive to build long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with our clients.

The Account Director reports to a Group Account Director and works closely with the Strategy, Project Management, UX, Creative, Communications/Media and Technology teams.  The Account Director must be able to communicate the agency’s vision and philosophy and have a deep knowledge of marketing and digital communications, as well as a solid understanding of all communication channels in a digital ecosystem – search, advertising, social, content, SEO and analytics.  This particular position requires seasoned experience in digital marketing strategy and website development.

The Account Director leads the AMP L.A. team and is ultimately responsible for delivering on the following:

  • Developing a long-term client partnership that results in a mutually beneficial, growth-oriented business and working relationship.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the client’s marketing objectives and strategies as well as the dynamics of the business environment. Advocating for the client at AMP L.A., advocating for AMP L.A. at the client.
  • Leading the annual strategy and marketing plan development.
  • Gaining client alignment on project objectives, approaches and KPIs.
  • Leading and guiding the project management, UX, creative and tech teams internally to ensure that all initiatives are delivered within budget and time parameters, with high quality output.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience in managing notable brands, understands brand strategy and has an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing.  Must be extremely flexible and solution-oriented in a dynamic and fast-paced industry. Must excel at motivating teams to solve business and marketing challenges for smart clients.

  • BA or BS from an accredited school
  • 5+ years of agency experience with a comprehensive mix from brand to digital ecosystems
  • Strong & confident personality with positive energy to lead and drive smart teams and adapt to client needs
  • Ability to demonstrate bigger picture understanding of client's marketing or business strategy
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and outstanding presentation abilities
